Our Bentonite product is suitable for Bleaching, Decolouring, refining, clarifying of edible oil and in recycling of lubricant oil, and also as catalyst, absorber, filler etc.

It works based on its character of adsorption and ion exchange. The adsorption process is influenced by some factors as follow :

  • particle size
  • adsorbent polarity
  • surface area
  • pore volume
  • pore size

The word of Bentonite was introduced firstly on 1898 by Knight. At that time, Bentonite was used to call a mineral rock that found in Benton Shale,Wyoming,USA. O’ Driscoll (1988) informed that Bentonite is a clay which consist of some essential minerals from smectite. Most of minerals in bentonite are montmorilonite, which have general formula :

(Na.Ca)0.33 (Al,Mg)2Si4O10(OH).nH2O

The exploration for bentonite, as for virtually all minerals, requires first an understanding of the geologic occurrence of deposits, sampling, testing and appraising of results. An understanding of the geology of the deposits is essential in the early stages, the second step is geologic field investigations, which may require mapping and feasibility studies.

Bentonite deposits are mined by surface and underground methods. Most of surface mines are operated on hill sides. Manpower and bulldozers are commonly used in stripping. Stage-pumps are used for draining mines.

Processing is done to the selective raw materials. The main process consists of crushing, drying, milling, grinding and packaging. To improve the absorbent property and bleaching ability, some materials are need trough some reaction process with sulfuric acid, keep in a certain temperature, washing, drying and grinding.

All of the factors mainly are influenced by the raw material selection and the processing technology. In producing, we select the raw material strictly and by our processing technology, the material is activated by heating and acid treatment to multiply the ability from its natural performance. To make an optimal performance, the material is grinded to find an ideal particle size distribution around 100 – 325 mesh.
